River Region Behavioral Health offers each patient an individual treatment plan tailored to their particular need. Our physician-led treatment team consists of nurses, social workers, counselors and recreational therapists who specialize in treating our patients.
Behavioral Health offers confidential, no charge screenings and drug screens, professional referrals, and community lectures and seminars.
Our facilities are conveniently located just off I-20 in Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Generations offers an inpatient geriatric psychiatric program, treating patients age 55 and older. Our Affective Disorder program treats patients who are experiencing depression, anxiety and other related psychological problems. The Cognitive Disorder program offers treatment for patients who are experiencing symptoms of dementia, including Alzheimer's or other advancing organic syndromes.
Symptoms may include:
- Loss of appetite
- Disorientation
- Severe memory loss
- Hallucinations
- Increased social withdrawal
- Depression
- Suicidal thoughts
- Sleep disturbances

The Center is a 20 bed adult psychiatric unit. Patients are treated in an intensive therapeutic environment. Medical and psychiatric stabilization is provided for those experiencing acute symptoms.
A multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals led by the patient's psychiatrist administers treatment of each patient with symptoms such as:
- Feelings of depression
- Thoughts of Suicide
- Hallucinations/delusional thinking
- Episodes of acute anxiety or panic attacks
- Phobias that inhibit everyday living habits

Adult Intensive Outpatient Program
The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is designed for people who need therapy more frequently than traditional outpatient treatment services but less than a full day program. The program is designed to help maintain and stabalize problem areas such as chemical dependency, depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders.
The program is offered Monday through Friday. Clients attend a minimum of three hours on each of their scheduled day(s). The actual schedule depends on the individuals needs.
Most hospital services are covered by Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance or private pay.
