Volunteer

River Region Medical Center is a great place to volunteer!
In the five years since River Region Medical Center opened, the volunteer auxiliary has grown along with the hospital. In 2002, the River Region Auxiliary had 64 active members. Today the group includes over 100 active members from Vicksburg and the surrounding areas.
The auxiliary men and women operate the auxiliary-owned Gift Shop and supervise the information desks at Ambulatory Surgery, Cardiology, Diagnostics and the ICU/CCU. They also deliver newspapers to patients.
Patients at the hospital see the efforts of the auxiliary on a daily basis. The auxiliary supplies:
- coloring books and crayons to Pediatrics, the Emergency Department and ICU
- memory boxes to parents of stillborn infants
- teddy bears to Ambulatory Surgery for children undergoing procedures
- patient rooms with clocks and CD/DVD players
- equipment to the education department and the outdoor fitness trail
